"Drinking has been a significant part of my life. No matter what I do, it usually involves having a drink in my hand. I love going out and having a good time, but I feel like alcohol has completely taken control of my life. I want to be able to go out and have fun without the need to get drunk. Is that even possible? Please help."
Emma, 38, a hairdresser living in Bristol, reached out to us because she was desperate to regain control over her escalating drinking habit. It's not uncommon for people to fall into this pattern, whether they are mothers of two or singles looking for love. There's always a seemingly good reason to slip into a regular routine of drinking.
Breaking this routine is crucial. Emma had developed a blind tolerance to alcohol and a habit of drinking excessively and regularly. We recommended that she try our successful hypnotherapy pack, designed to reduce and control her alcohol intake.
Emma graciously allowed us to share her reply three weeks later:
“I'm amazed to say this actually works! I was a bit sceptical at first, but you reassured me that this would be the best option for me to control my drinking, and you were right. You were even kind enough to send me a sample, which I found really relaxing. It gave me the added confidence that this might actually work.
I live in a small village just outside Bristol city centre. Most days, I can't wait to go to work and see my lovely clients. Honestly, I truly enjoy putting a smile on their faces as they leave with new hair. Then, my second passion is to PARTY!
From a young age, I was out drinking at house parties, park benches, and even bars if we weren't asked for ID. My parents were laid back and trusted that I was sensible, although I admit I wasn't always!
During my studies, I did really well, but I was still out drinking all the time at parties. Then there were the yearly holidays to Ibiza, regular weekends away with friends, every Friday night at our favourite local with the girls from work, and Saturday brunch with a few beers.
I can't remember a time when I didn't have a drink in my hand, except when holding a pair of scissors. It reached a point where my energy levels began to wane, especially after a night of drinking, which was becoming almost every night. I wanted to keep my drinking habit under wraps, but I think my friends and colleagues were starting to notice. There's no hiding the smell that lingers after a heavy night of drinking, is there? I realised it was time to take action.
I noticed the Clear Minds ads kept appearing on my news feed. Although I was sceptical, after they sent me a sample of the Take Control of Alcohol pack (I was surprised to hear from Hugh himself!), I thought, 'What have I got to lose?' It seemed to fit perfectly.
After just a few days, I started feeling the effects. I felt more relaxed and didn't feel the need to drink on work nights. I didn't always catch everything that was said during the hypnosis, but whatever it was, it worked like magic! I drank only twice this week and even turned away a top-up on my glass. I was happy with just one; I wanted to enjoy the afternoon without any blank spots. I didn't need to feel giddy to have a good time, especially with my favourite five people in the world.
Thanks, guys - I can't believe how you've truly changed my relationship with alcohol, and I've never felt better!”
